Ada

Ada is a lentil crepe like Dosa.Quite full of protein, gluten free and healthy too. This recipe uses Black Gram(Urad Dal), (senaga pappu) Chana Dal, Kandi Pappu(Toor Dal) and rice, needs no fermentation.

Preparation time30 minutes
Serves16 Crepes
Serving Size1 Crepe
Calories Per ServingApproximately 70 per serving
DifficultyMedium

Ingredients:
1/2 cup Black Gram(Urad Dal)
 1/2 cup Chana Dal(senaga pappu)
1/2 cup Toor Dal (Kandi Pappu)
1/2 cup rice(you can use brown rice as well)
salt to taste
Oil to drizzle over the pan

Procedure:
1.Soak all the ingredients in water for 4-6 hours or overnight.

2.Grind all the ingredients to a smooth paste adding sufficient water.Let the batter sit covered for an hour because the lentils will absorb water and batter will get thick.

3.If you want a thin crepe thin the batter with water else you can use it as is to make thick crepes.Heat a pan, smear a half cut onion on it and pour 1/4 cup of batter and rotate it in concentric circles to make a round crepe.Drizzle a little oil around and on top and let cook till the edges start to come off and the crepe is golden brown.

4.Flip and let cook for 1/2 a minute on the other side.Serve with your favorite chutney.

Tips:
This can be served with tomato or peanut chutneys available in this link  for Chutneys
You can also substitute other lentils keeping the proportion of the rice same.for example you can add 1/4 cup lima beans, 1/4 cup masoor dal instead of toor, chana or urad dal.
