I had my friend and roommate from Kansas city Visit me with her family last night.I had the ingredients for a custard handy and having already made custard I thought Ill add a spin to it,and who doesn't love chocolate.It turned out quite good.
Preparation time:1 hour
Serves:8-10
Ingredients:
2 cup full fat milk
2 oz bittersweet baking chocolate
2 teaspoon kahlua(optional)
1 cup sugar
1/2 can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
7 egg yolks
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Procedure:
1.PreHeat oven to 350 degrees.
2.In a pan take the milk and warm it,do not boil,add sugar,baking chocolate,cocoa powder,vanilla extract and kahlua and stir until completely combined and let cool.
3.In a bowl take the egg yolks and the condensed milk and whisk until combined.
4.Once the chocolate mixture is cooled add it to the egg yolk mixture and combine well.
5.Transfer to a baking pan or individual ramekins.Place the container in another pan filled with water and place both in the oven and bake for about 45 minutes or until the pudding is set.When you shake the container the pudding should not shake.Remove and cool in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
Tips:
Serve with whipped cream and fruit compote of your choice.
