I am a big fan of Indo Chinese Street food.This is one such preparation with paneer tossed in chinese sauces for a sweet,tangy and spicy lip smacking food.
Preparation time:30 minutes
Ingredients:
8 oz paneer(about half a block)
4-5 green chili
1 small capsicum cut lengthwise
1/2 medium onion cut lengthwise
6 spring onion stalks(optional)
1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
1 egg
1 tablespoon maida(all purpose flour)
2 tablespoons corn flour
1 teaspoon +1 tablespoon soy sauce
salt to taste
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2-3 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon sugar/maple syrup/agave syrup
1 tablespoon garlic red chili sauce
1 tablespoon vinegar
Procedure:
1.Take a pan and boil 3 cups of water with salt, Now add the paneer cubes and let boil for 5 minutes remove from stove and drain the water.
2.In a bowl take maida, corn flour,1 teaspoon soy sauce, salt, ginger garlic paste and egg and make a mixture. Add the paneer to it and coat it well. If you want you can add red food color in this mixture.If your batter is too thick add a little water,it should be thick enough to coat the paneer cubes,but not too runny.

3.Take 1 tablespoons oil in a pan and roast the paneer cubes
on all sides just until lightly browned. Remove from stove and drain on paper
towel.
4.In the same pan take the remaining oil and saute the
onion, capsicum and green chili(and spring onion if using) for 3-4 minutes on medium-high
flame stirring continuously.
5.Turn down the heat to low and add the soy sauce, vinegar, red
chili sauce, sugar and combine.
6.Turn the heat to medium and add the cornstarch dissolved
in 1/3 cup water. Combine and bring to a light boil until the sauce thickens, adjust
salt and turn off the stove.
