Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Chocolate covered strawberries are a simple to make with no cooking involved and strike a great gift on special occasions like mother's day, birthdays or valentines day for someone you love.Get creative with the designs you want to put on the dipped strawberries.
Preparation time:20 minutes
Serves:12

Ingredients:
1 Pint strawberries(about 20 in number pick ones in same size)
2 cubes almond bark(white chocolate) or 4 oz baking white chocolate
2 cubes almond bark(milk chocolate) or 4 oz baking milk chocolate

Procedure:
1.Wash and dry the strawberries on a paper towel or dish cloth.

2.Melt the chocolate in a small bowl in the microwave in 10 second intervals, stir and place it back for another 10 seconds until completely melted.

3.Hold the strawberries by the stem and dip them in the chocolate and rotate them until they are coated all around.

4.Place them on parchment paper until they harden.

5.For variations you can spray sprinkles, chocolate chips etc immediately after dipping in the chocolate and let them dry.Hold the dipped strawberries over a plate and sprinkle them and place on parchment paper.

6.You can also double dip them or make patterns like polka dots, suit and bow etc.

Tips:
All icecream sprinkles can be used for decoration,I have used ground almond powder, sprinkles, chocolate chips, coconut flakes.
Do not heat the chocolate for an entire minute in the microwave, the chocolate will crystallize and will not be usable for dipping.
The strawberries should be completely dry without any water.Water and chocolate aren't the best of friends.
You can also use chocolate medallions  or baking chocolate available at craft stores instead of almond bark,do not use the chocolate bars that are available in stores.
You can infact dip everything in the chocolate, like almonds, pretzels, cherries, blueberries, you name it.
Picking your strawberries at their ripest is important,do not buy ones with spots or blemishes, make sure they are all of the same size,They have to be at room temperature so do not chill them before dipping.
These have to be stored at room temperature in a cool place(not in the refrigerator).
